It’s been a long, quiet day of digital archaeology. I’ve spent the better part of it sifting through the digital dust, trying to pull the remains of FFHut back together. I’m writing this for whoever might eventually stumble upon it—a little update for the void.
The "archaeology" part of this project is proving to be a much steeper climb than I had hoped. I’ve managed to identify 130 entry points that lead to old threads, but the Wayback Machine is rarely kind to our specific mess of a history. Most of these are heavily fragmented, single pages from what used to be five- or six-page discussions, and there are plenty of dead ends and broken links that lead nowhere. I have also found about 50 "lofi" snapshots, which have yet less information but still contain discussion.
It isn't perfect. I can't speak to the quality of the fragments I'm finding, half of it might be unintelligible, but there is enough here to begin the slow process of piecing the story back together.
I’ve reached out to a few people who were here back in the day, hoping they might have some remnants hiding on an old hard drive somewhere. If you were a part of this and have anything, be it a saved thread, a screenshot, or just a stray memory, please get in touch.
I don't have much to show right now. Just a stack of digital scraps. But I am working on organising these snippets into something readable. My goal is to have something tangible to share by next week.
Until then, I’ll keep digging.
